As we make our way into a new year we find that new trends are upon us. Just as 2016 had its top contenders for wedding color schemes, so will 2017. New color trends are pushing through and we’re here to tell you first what they were and then what they’ll be.
Blush and Gold – This gorgeous combo landed itself on the map a few years ago, and had the audacity to stick around. Well why shouldn’t it have? The combination of blush and gold is feminine and elegant, with a touch of glamour in that metallic sheen. Blush is multifaceted in that it fits well into many color combos but there is so much more out there. You’ve had a good run Blush but it’s time to step aside.
Rose Quartz and Serenity – This stunning pair was listed as the 2016 Pantone Colors of the Year. Though the combination is reminiscent of a baby shower in some aspects, beautiful things have been done with it. Do you ever hear a song on the radio and fall in love with it? Then you hear it again, and again, and again… until you’re not sure how you feel about it anymore. That is what has happened to this pastel duo, the industry has overplayed our favorite song and so now it must retire.
Jewel Tones – There are so very many combinations that can come from one phrase. Jewel tones are rich, vibrant, and can introduce you to a match you may not have ordinarily made. They can range from emerald to eggplant and be incorporated into many different styles: woodsy, elegant, romantic, etc. Though we spent quite a bit of time with these color tones in 2016 we’d like to see a little more in the future.
The 2017 Pantone Color of the Year is “Greenery” and we are in love. This color fits right in with the upcoming color trends for weddings in 2017. You can pair it with so much. Scroll through to see beautiful the color combinations selected for each season this year.
We know you might be thinking ‘what a surprise, yet another pastel’ but olive isn’t typically put in the pastel category. Olive is a fun way to get a little moodier with your Spring colors and is so lovely next to Mauve. Be unexpected! Instead of letting your bridesmaids have all the fun with colorful dresses wear a Mauve bridal gown.
Summer means sun and we can see the sunlight flickering off of all of these vibrant colors. It’s the perfect time to keep things light and bright. Even just looking the fun shades of Peach and Coral makes us happy!
Deep Hunter Green & Rich Mustard Yellow sing the song of Autumn. Even without blooms, you can drape lush greenery throughout your event space to make a statement and use mixed candles flickering on your tabletops to incorporate a mellow mustard tint while keeping the feel of a romantic space. If all this Mustard & Hunter is a bit much for you then incorporate Grey menswear or table linens will help to keep the palette earthy instead of overwhelming.
This sophisticated combination has the perfect touch of color for your winter wedding; it speaks winter without being Christmas. With beautiful blooms of Peonies & Dahlias growing naturally in the shade of Marsala your bouquet is sure to make a statement.
